What is jochen kowalski?

Jochen Kowalski (born on March 22, 1954) is a German countertenor, opera director, and professor. He is considered one of the best countertenors of his generation. Kowalski started his career as a member of the Thomanerchor (St. Thomas Boys Choir) in Leipzig, Germany, and later studied singing at the Dresden Academy of Music. He made his debut in 1979 as Oberon in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Kowalski has performed at major opera houses and festivals all over the world, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Salzburg Festival. In addition to his successful singing career, Kowalski has also directed numerous opera productions and has been teaching at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2008.
